Name of Chemical: HX-12
Molecular Formula: C10H6F17O2NS
Molecular Weight: 527
Characters: light-yellow solid, melting, point is 88-90°C,it can have reactions with chlorethanol and chloracetate, can dissolve in alcohol, acetone and other organic solvent and appears amber.
Uses: sulfluramid is a new kind of organo-fluorine pesticide and has good effects. It is mainly used to prevent ant, cockroach and other reptile insects. Nanjing Military Medicine Research Institute and Nanjing University have carried out the following toxicity test:
1, experimental insects: small adult cockroach of Germany;
2, test procedure: prepare sulfluramid as the concentrations of 2%, 1%, 0.5%, 0.25%and 0.125% with acetone. Take the cockroach with a test tube, anesthetize them lightly with diethyl ether, list them with upper belly, use 10µ I sample injector to absorb 2µ I medical liquid and drip them on the belly between the second pair of feet and the third pair of cockroach . Repeat this from low concentration to high concentration and take acetone drop as the contrast ;
3, test conclusion is shown as the follows:
sulfuramid to Germany cockroach: 24hLD50=10.8X10-3µ g/cockroach,
48 hLD50= 9.7X10-3 µ g/cockroach, 72hLD50=4.0 X10-3µ g/cockroach,
96hLD50= 1.3 X10-3 µ g/cockroach,

We can learn that sulfluramid is a kind of chronic stomach poisonous pesticide.
Sulfluramid (N-ethyl, perfluoro octylsulfamide) also can be used to prepare series of perfluoro octyl surfactant.
